The Vidalia Beautification Committee will present the 3rd Annual Fourth of July Festival on the Vidalia Riverfront.
This year's event will begin at 3 p.m. with the singing of The National Anthem and the raising of the American Flag atop the Vidalia Fire Department's ladder truck.
Immediately following, an official flag retirement ceremony will be conducted by local Cub Scouts so that your torn, aged and tattered flag can be retired with honors.
Throughout the day, there will be entertainers - singers, dancers, recitals - as well as the Most Patriotic Contest and Patriotic Pet Contest.
Vendors will be on site, selling various crafts, food and clothing.
Jumpy castles and games will be part of this family event.
The night will cap off with fireworks over the Mississippi River.
