Bond for a Ferriday man – who has been charged with second-degree murder – was set at $750,000 last week.

Don’Teale K. Carter, 20, 417 Fifth Street, Ferriday, was charged after an alleged attack at a car wash at Moose Tobacco on Hwy 84 and Sixth Street in Ferriday on May 9.

The victim, Teresa Poole, 42, 2246 E.E, Wallace Blvd, Ferriday, was airlifted after the incident to Rapides Medical Center in Alexandria with severe head injuries. She later died.

Ferriday Police Investigator Richard Madison said the case is still under investigation, and other arrests are pending.

On another note, Madison reminded residents that there is a law against loud music in public places, especially around churches.
