A high-speed chase that started in Natchez ended in Ferriday Tuesday evening when a stolen vehicle flipped in the Wilson Machine Shop parking lot.

Donald Higginbotham III of Ridgecrest is accused of stealing the vehicle -- a truck -- from Kaiser's in Natchez. Higginbotham had a female passenger in the car.

Ferriday Police Officer Sam King said Ferriday Police received a call from Adams County Sheriff's Office at 6:30 p.m.

"Adams County Sheriff's Office and Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office were trailing the vehicle," King said. "We were just trying to make it where he would come through safely and nobody would get hurt."

King said Higginbotham was going about 60 or 70 miles per hour when he came into Ferriday.

"He attempted to go through Wilson Machine Shop parking lot, lost control and rolled the car," King said. "Higginbotham and his passenger were taken to Riverland Medical Center and released. Higginbotham is currently in the Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office jail. He has some outstanding warrants and will have some traffic infractions, as well as the stolen car charge in Adams County."
