Huey Long Nelson

Funeral services for Huey Long Nelson, 83, of Clayton, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6 2019, at Young's Funeral Home- Ferriday with  Dana Nelson and Bro. Donald Money officiating.  Interment will follow at Old Pine Hill Cemetery, Leland, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Huey Long Nelson was born on Friday, September 13, 1935 in Foules and passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 in Ferriday. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a sportsman and loved hunting, fishing, and was an artist. Mr. Huey served his country in the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse Matthew Nelson, Sr. and Lillie Egloff Nelson; tow sisters, Merion Stogner and Viola Tiffee; and three brothers, Russell Nelson, Skylar Nelson, and Jesse Nelson, Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years Mary Nelson of Clayton; two daughters Vickie Nelson Zuccaro of Ferriday and Dana Nelson of Clayton; son Randall Nelson and his wife Melissa of Austin, TX; daughter Carla Nelson of Clayton; seven grandchildren, Thomas Zuccaro, Chris Zuccaro, Gabriel Nelson and his wife Micah, Hilary Bond and her husband Darrin, Kinsey Worley and her husband Josh, Paige Dawson, and Adam Boyd; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Zuccaro, Chris Zuccaro, Gabriel Nelson, Josh Worley, Darrin Bond, Damon Harrington, Johnny Nelson, and Luke Harrington.

The family would like to ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Faith, Hope, & Love Ministry (Family Prison Ministry providing Bibles for inmates) at Concordia Bank, Ferriday.

Albert Lamar Nettles

Albert Lamar Nettles, age 88 from Purvis, Mississippi, passed away on Memorial Day, May 27, 2019 at 7:30 p.m., surrounded by family and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Elizabeth Nettles; a brother, Charles Ralph Nettles, and two sisters, Flora Aline Nettles and Carolyn Elizabeth Nettles-Smith.

Albert is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Betty Sue Nettles of Purvis,MS;  his two sons, Kenneth Lamar Nettles with his wife Linda of Gulf Shores, AL and Paul Eugene Nettles with his wife Jane of Purvis, MS; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

Albert lived a long and fruitful life that began on October 18, 1930, sharing many loving memories with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He bravely served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War in the summer of 1953. During his time of service, Albert was awarded numerous medals for his sacrifices.

Mr. Nettles owned The Barn Restaurant in Deer Park, was a paint contractor, and an entrepreneur of business. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Eddiceton, MS.

It is with regret that we say goodbye, but we come together in his memory to send our love and prayers for such a cherished man. Please include Albert and his entire family in your prayers.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home Purvis Chapel .

Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Hulett-Winstead Purvis Chapel.

Interment was in Coaltown Cemetery.

Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Oscar Wuster Craddock

Memorial service for Oscar Wuster Craddock, 67, of Jonesville, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Young's Funeral Home in Jonesville, with Bro. Dave Carlton officiating, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.  Oscar was born on July 22, 1951 in Abilene, TX to Charles and Rosemary Wurster Craddock and passed away on April 24, 2019 in Jonesville.

Gladys Martin Nelson

Graveside services for Gladys Martin Nelson, 83, of Clayton, were held Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Natchez with Bro. Jon Lord officiating, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Gladys was born on Saturday, December 7, 1935 in York, AL and passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington.   She was a resident of Clayton and a member of Sicily Island First Methodist Church.

David "Bud" Glynn Pennington

Services for David "Bud" Glynn Pennington, 33, of Monterey, were held Friday, May 31, 2019, at Young's Funeral Home, Ferriday with Bro. Byron Gray officiating, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Bud Pennington was born on Thursday, March 13, 1986 in Natchez, MS and passed away Monday, May 27, 2019 in Baton Rouge.
