Four members of the Delta Charter softball team were named to the District 2-1A second team.

Named to the second team were pitcher Jaden Boydston, catcher Skylar Hawley, infielder Skylar Bolyer and utility player Sophie Cooper of Delta Charter; 

While the conference race was never truly settled — Oak Grove, Ouachita Christian and Cedar Creek were declared tri-champions — the district shined in postseason .

Oak Grove (22-9) went on to win its second straight title and third overall. It marked the West Carroll Parish school’s first consecutive state championships in any sport since the Lady Tigers’  team went back-to-back in 1950 and ’51.

OCS (26-6) also advanced to Sulphur, bringing  the Division IV state runner-up trophy.

Cedar Creek (18-10), which matched Oak Grove and OCS with a 4-1 district record, both reached the second round.

St. Frederick (16-12) won its first playoff game since 2003.

Lauren Menzina of Cedar Creek is the District MVP.

OCS led the way with eight first-team honorees, followed by Cedar Creek with six, Oak Grove with five and St. Fred with three.
