Delta Charter's baseball team scored nine runs in the fourth inning as the Storm defeated St. Frederick 13-3 Tuesday in Ferriday.

Preston Higgins got the win for Delta Charter, allowing four hits.

Trey Poole delivered a home run and Cole McGivaren doubled.

Higgins and Freddie Mango had two hits each.

McGivaren drove in four runs, while Drew Brown and Higgins drove in two runs each.

 

 

Lady Wolves edge Oak Hill

 

With less than a week remaining in the regular season, Monterey's Lady Wolves pulled out a big win Tuesday at home, edging Oak Hill 1-0.

Monterey entered the game as the No. 19 seed, while Oak Hill was No. 8.

The only run of the game came in the fourth inning as Allie Lipsey doubled and Andy Gray delivered a two-out single to score Lipsey.

Avery Cupit got the win allowing nine hits, but keeping Oak Hill from plating a runner.

Harlie Murray collected two hits for Monterey.

The Lady Wolves did not have an error in the contest.

Monterey hosts Glenmora.

 

Lady Vikings rally for win

 

Vidalia High collected 15 hits as the Lady Vikings rallied for a 13-8 win over Harrisonburg Tuesday in Vidalia.

The Lady Vikings used the long ball to score three runs as Shelbi Cross had a solo home run and Sara Cockerham had a two-run homer.

Harrisonburg led 7-4 in the fourth inning before Vidalia tied the game and took the lead for good.

Cockerham doubled and singled twice. Skylar Adams doubled and singled, while Alyssa Cupstid and Tiona Ellis singled twice and Macie Seyfarth tripled.

Cockerham got the win.

 

Lady Storm fall

Delta Charter fell to Mangham 18-5 Tuesday in Ferriday.

Mangham scored seven runs in the third inning and seven in the sixth.

Skylar Bolyer doubled and singled twice for Delta Charter.

Alexis Yates doubled and singled and Josie Richardson singled twice.

Delta Charter entered the game ranked No. 5 in Class 1A power ratings.

Mangham is no. 3 in Class 2A.
