Ferriday High dropped a pair of games at Rayville Friday .
Rayville's boys, unbeaten and ranked No. 1 in Class 2A and considered by many as the best team in the state, led Ferriday 30-14 after one period and 61-29 at halftime.
Dantrieze Scott led Ferriday with 16 points. Montrieze Sandage added 14, while Marquell Griffin added 13.
Ferriday’s boys (16-11) are ranked No. 9 in Class 2A power rankings.
The Lady Trojans fell to Rayville 62-49.
"They are a tough team and much faster than we are," said Lady Trojan coach Lisa Abron. "They play a much more aggressive style. I think a lot of it is mental with our girls."
Ferriday's girls trailed Rayville 23-9 after one period and 39-18 at halftime.
Anasia Turner, returning from a foot injury, led Ferriday with 18 points, while aniya Curry and Pacha Poole added 11 points each.
Ferriday's girls were ranked No.4 in the latest Class 2A power rankings. The girls playoff bracket will be released Monday.
"I still think we are in good shape," Abron said. "Our girls are anxious and can't wait for the playoffs to begin."
