Ferriday’s track girls placed fourth at the Region 1-2A meet in Alexandria April 24, while the Ferriday boys finished fifth.
Vidalia’s boys placed ninth, while the Lady Vikings placed 16.
Ferriday’s girls totaled 40 points, while Ferriday boys tallied 50. Vidalia’s boys finished with 25 points, while the Lady Vikings had three.
The top three finishers in each event advance to the state meet which will be held at LSU in Baton Rouge Friday.
Ferriday’s Jamien Green won the 200-dash with a time of 22.75 and also qualified for State in the 100-dash, finishing third with a time of 11.29.
Damion Milligan of Feriday won the 300-hurdles at 41.57.
Vidalia’s Devin Green was fourth in the 200-dash at 23.44. Jared Simpson was fifth at 23.45.
Ferriday’s Kobe Dillon advanced to State in the 400-dash with a second place finish of 52.05.
Vidalia’s Cam’Ron Milligan qualified for State, finishing second in the 110-hurdles at 17.86.
Ferriday’s 4x200 team of Dillon, Jaquarius Davis, Milligan and Green placed first with a time of 1:29.74.
Curtis Washington of Vidalia qualified for State in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet.
For the girls, Ferriday’s Shekayla Miller placed second in the 200-dash at 26.62.
Ferriday’s Da’Ashton Dragg won the high jump at 5 feet and placed fourth in the 100-dash at 13.29.
Ferriday freshman Tamia Jefferson placed fifth in the 800-run at 2:53.10.
Vidalia’s Jamya Smith placed sixth in the 100-hurdles at 19.39.
Vidalia’s Kaya Washington placed fifth in the 300-hurdles at 54.82.
Ferriday’s 4x100 team of Jakayla Griggs, Dragg, Diamond Johnson and Miller placed third at 51.06.
Ferriday’s 4x200 team of Johnson, Takera Spurs, Kabreasia Russ and Griggs placed fourth at 1:49.75.
Ferriday’s 4x400 relay team of Beyonce Harbor, Tamia Jefferson, Dykeria Hawkins and Johnson placed fifth at 4:43.11.
Ferriday’s Diamond Johnson placed fourth in the long jump at 15 feet. 10.5 inches.
And that’s no joke.
