Vikings even district mark

After falling behind Rayville 2-0, the Vidalia baseball team scored three runs in the second and exploded for eight in the sixth in a 13-3 win over the Hornets Tuesday in Vidalia.

The Vikings improved 8-7 overall and 2-2 in District 2-2A.

Vidalia took advantage of Rayville walked seven Vikings. Dylan LaPrairie walked twice.

Vidalia played small ball for most of the night.

C.J. Chatman tripled for the Vikings.

Dominic Harveston, Sam Harp, LaPrairie, Tristan Weatherly and Tony Tolliver each singled.

Weatherly struck out eight and walked five for the win.


Delta Charter softball falls to CC


Cedar Creek pitcher Lauren Menzina held Delta Charter to one hit as the Lady Cougars defeated the Lady Storm 18-0 in Ferriday Tuesday.

Menzina struck out nine batters over three innings.

Cedar Creek scored nine runs in the first inning, eight in the second and one in the third.

Glenmora rallies past Monterey

 Monterey's Lady Wolves scored three runs in their first at-bat, but were shut out over the next six inning as Glenmora rallied for a 4-3 win Tuesday in Glenmora.

Glenmora pitcher Abbot Stafford held the Lady Wolves to five hits. Stafford pitched five innings of no-hit ball last year in the Lady Cats' 2-1 Class B quarterfinal loss to Castor.

Maddy Green had two of Monterey's five hits.

Andy Gray walked twice, while Harlie Murray and Allie Lipsey both singled.
