Belles roll past Rayville, Bastrop

The Winnsboro Belles beat Rayville and Bastrop last weekend as they make their way to the state tournament in Alexandria, July 12.

The Belles beat both teams convincingly. They blew out Rayville 18-3 and blanked Bastrop 8-0.

In the first game, Anne Elise Sartin was the winning pitcher for the 15U all stars. She went one inning, allowed no runs, no hits, no walks and struck out one.

Maggie Parker and Courtlynn Havard entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

In the contest, the team racked up 18 hits. Sartin, Ashlyn Rodgers, Natalie Roberts, Lexi Parker, Shelby Dickerson and Taylor Biggs all managed multiple hits.

Rodgers and Sartin each collected three hits to lead the Belles.

Winnsboro 7 - Bastrop 0

Sartin continued her pitching dominance against Bastrop not allowing a single run and just one hit in seven innings against Bastrop.

The Belles blanked Bastrop 7-0 on Sunday.

The 15U team secured the victory thanks to four runs in the sixth inning. All star batters contributing to the big inning included Carson King and Ashlyn Rodgers, all driving in runs in the inning.

The Belles got on the board in the first innings when Sartin drove in one when she singled.

A single by Charlee Sistrunk in the fifth was the only hit for Bastrop.

Taylor Biggs, Sartin, Shelby Dickerson and King each collected one hit to lead the Belles.

Rodgers ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases. The team totaled nine.
