Franklin Parish Council On Aging

THE FRANKLIN PARISH COUNCIL ON AGING expanded services this week with the addition of a satellite center at Liberty Christian Center Southeast, 403 Eighth St., Winnsboro. The satellite is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and offers meals, activities and information and referrals just as the main center does, except for transportation, according to COA Director Kay Thompson. Thompson said the COA had a waiting list of about 56 for their services which prompted the decision to open the additional center. Already the 30 allotted slots have been filled. Funding will come from state sources and a parish millage dedicated to support the COA.
