Farm Bureau shutout Winnsboro East 6-0 on May 7, as the 13-14 year old Dixie league kicked off.

Conner Perritt pitched the complete game shutout going five innings and recording seven strikeouts.

Offensively, Farm Bureau scored three in the first inning and three in the third inning.

Ian Gowan hit a double in the first scoring Tyler Ready and Dakota Dupuy, who hit a single.

Gowan would eventually score on a Tucker Chapman single in the first for Farm Bureau.

Kyler Roberts was the starting pitcher for Winnsboro East. He put in three innings of work and had five strike outs.

Cade Bailey pitched one inning of relief and recorded one strike out.

Winnsboro West 8 –

Farm Bureau 7

Farm Bureau could not catch up to Winnsboro West after the first four batters scored.

Winnsboro West’s Nate Gray took advantage of a leadoff walk and stroked a double into centerfield.  Gray would later hit a single in the game.

Next batter, Raylee Thomas hit a single to score Gray and Ty McMurry followed suit by scoring Thomas on a single.

Thomas hit another single in the second inning and scored

Brantley Bruce contributed by hitting  a single to right field in the second inning.

Dylan McMurry was the starting pitcher for Winnsboro West. He put in 1 2/3 innings and struck out five.

Gray finished on the mound with a 1/3 inning and two strike outs.

Farm Bureau made a valiant effort in their comeback scoring five of their six runs in the last inning but fell short.

Tyler Ready hit a single to left and scored on a Tucker Chapman single in the first inning for Farm Bureau. Ready and Tucker also scored in the second.

Additionally, Conner Perritt hit a single in the second inning.

Dakota Dupuy was starting pitcher for Farm Bureau and Perritt was charged with relief duties for Farm Bureau.

Perritt pitched 1 2/3 innings and recorded four strike outs.
