Boil Water Advisory

Wisner is under a boil water advisory, said Mayor Marc McCarty.

The advisory was called after Wisner switched to an emergency water supply due to a leak in the main supply line lowered the water levels in the tower. Wisner is temporarily receiving its water from Bayou Macon Water.

A boil water advisory is issued by water utilities or health agencies as a precaution to protect consumers. Boil water advisories are typically issued when an unexpected condition has caused a potential contamination in a public water system.

Consumers are asked to bring water to a full, rolling boil for one minute, then allow the water to cool before use.
