Winnsboro East out hit Farm Bureau but could not score in a 13-14 year old Dixie baseball matchup May 21.
Farm Bureau won the contest 2-0 with Tyler Ready going the distance on the pitching mound and recording nine strikeouts.
Farm Bureau scored their two runs in the fourth inning.
Starting pitcher for Winnsboro East was Eli Foster. He put in four innings on the mound and had four strikeouts.
Conner Perritt had the sole hit for Winnsboro East with a single.
Lane Ferrington, Ab Tarver and Conner Peppers had a single each for Farm Bureau.
Kyler Roberts slapped a double for Farm Bureau in the contest.
Winnsboro West 14 –
Farm Bureau 3
In the first game of the night, Winnsboro West beat Farm Bureau 14-3, May 23.
West used a big third and fourth inning to get past Farm Bureau. West scored five points in the third and six points in the fourth. They also out hit the team 10 to six.
Offensively, Raylee Thomas led his team at the plate going two-for-two in the contest. He hit a double and a single and collected three RBI in his effort.
Ty Murry had a hit for West and also tallied three RBI against Farm Bureau.
Nate Gray smoked a double for West.
Sam Carrington had the big hit of the game with a triple and recorded an RBI.
Cade Ingram and Braiden Weatherly had a single and RBI each for West.
Dylan McMurray and Jaden Eldridge each had a hit for West.
McMurray was assigned starting pitching duties for West. He went three innings and had five strikeouts.
For Farm Bureau, Conner Perrit slapped a double and recorded two RBI.
Tucker Chapman contributed with a double against West.
Blake Graves, Ian Gowan, Tyler Ready and Rodney Boyd each had singles for Farm Bureau in the game.
Winnsboro East 6 –
Winnsboro West 5
Winnsboro East scored three points in the bottom of the fourth in a come-back win against Winnsboro West, 6-5.
West got on the board first scoring two runs in the first and one run in the second, but West chipped away at the lead by scoring two runs in the second.
In the third inning, West would score their last two points, but East kept the score close by scoring an additional run in the bottom of the inning, setting up their fourth inning come-back.
Kyler Roberts took the mound for East in the first and lasted three innings. Roberts recorded six strike outs during the matchup.
Cade Bailey would finish the game and strike two West players out.
Offensively, West would out hit East by notching five hits to East’s four.
Ab Tarver and Logan Ferrington each smoked a double in the game with Tarver notching a RBI for East.
Conner Peppers and Hunter Kenney had a single for East.
West starting pitcher Ty McMurry threw 3 2/3 innings and struck six East players out.
Nate Gray finished the pitching duties in the last inning.
McMurry would help his cause at the plate by going two-for-two with two RBI.
Hunter Linder would also go two-for-two at the plate for West.
Brantley Bruce contributed with a hit against East.
