The Winnsboro 10U All-Stars swept the sub-district tournament in dominating fashion last weekend and are now preparing for the district tournament.
The 10U All-Star team beat Caldwell Parish All-Stars 13-1.
Winnsboro put five points on the board in the first inning and never looked back, scoring four in the second and third.
The sole point for Caldwell came in the second inning.
Gavin Griffing was the starting pitcher for Winnsboro. He went one inning and collected two strike outs.
Cade Hankins put in two innings on the mound for Winnsboro. Hankins pitched two innings and struck three Caldwell players out.
Eli Cottingham finished the work and struck out two players in the last inning.
Tristan Dickson had the big hit of the game with a triple in the first inning. He came back and smoked a single in the third inning.
Griffing hit two singles in the matchup, and Jacolby Brooks contributed with a single in the second inning.
Winnsboro 11 -
Winnsboro used another big first inning to get past their opponents as they scored seven against Concordia.
Winnsboro continued to score in each inning with three points in the second and one point in the third.
Keller Bradley was tapped with starting pitching duties against Concordia. Bradley spent two innings on the mound and collected two strike outs.
Tristan Dickson pitched 1 1/2 innings and struck out one. Gavin Griffing pitched a 1/3 of an inning and also struck out one.
Additionally, Bradley excelled at the plate. Bradley hit a triple in the first and a single in the second.
Dickson slapped two singles against Concordia.
Eli Cottingham, Griffing and Conner Toller hit singles for Winnsboro in the matchup.
Winnsboro 11 - Mangham 4
Winnsboro had to play catchup in the Mangham game as they fell behind in the first inning 2-0.
The lead did not last long as Winnsboro scored two points in the second and exploded with four points in the third, one point in the fourth and tacked on four insurance runs in the fifth.
Mangham managed only one more score in the third and a score in the fifth inning.
Eli Cottingham pitched the majority of the game for Winnsboro. He went 3 1/3 innings and struck out seven Mangham players.
Keller Bradley closed the game out on the mound going 1 2/3 innings and striking out three players.
The Winnsboro 10U team has several players on their roster that are capable of having big offensive games.
This time, Conner Toller had the dominate offensive game with a triple and a single. Toller hit the triple in the third.
Jaxon Perry had a strong game at the plate with two singles against Mangham.
Cottingham, Gavin Griffing and Bradley Keller hit a single each.
