Ouachita Parish Metro Narcotics Unit agents arrested a Monroe man for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute last week during an investigation of drug activity on McGowen Extension.
Agents executed a search warrant at the home of Hulbert Howard, 61, of 1014 McGowen Extension, Monroe.
During the search, agents found seven bags containing meth and one bag containing several Clonazepam tablets as well as several rounds of .308 bullets and a .308 rifle.
Howard was previously convicted of felony burglary in 2012, according to the June 26 arrest report.
Howard asked for an attorney prior to any questioning.
He was booked at Ouachita Correctional Center on the above charge as well as on one count of possession of Clonazepam and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
