Ouachita Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested a Monroe man on one charge of theft last week after an outboard boat motor theft investigation by authorities pointed toward the victim’s grandson.

During the investigation, authorities developed the victim’s grandson, Casey Clay Gunn, 26, of 1409 Harmon Johnson Road, Monroe, as a possible suspect in the theft, according to the April 1 arrest report.

During questioning, Gunn admitted to taking the boat motor earlier that day.

Gunn claimed he took the motor to Auto Shred in Monroe and received $33 for it.

Gunn was arrested and transported to Ouachita Correctional Center where he was booked.
