Ouachita Parish sheriff's deputies arrested an Alabama man on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine last week after authorities observed a tractor trailer parked on the shoulder of the Camp Road exit off Interstate 20.
When the deputy approached the tractor trailer, he observed Michael R. Curry, 52, of 1970 Dustin Lane, Florala, Alabama, walking around the tractor trailer as though the vehicle were broken down.
The deputy activated his patrol unit's emergency lights, which led to Curry walking around the vehicle and getting inside the driver's seat.
While speaking with Curry, the deputy observed a glass pipe in plain view and received consent to search the vehicle. During the search,t he deputy found methamphetamine.
During questioning, Curry claimed ownership of the meth and glass pipe.
He was booked at Ouachita Correctional Center on suspicion of possession of meth and possession fo drug paraphernalia.
