Ouachita Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested a Monroe man on suspicion of aggravated assault with a firearm and obstruction of a public passage last week after authorities received a complaint of a disturbance on Barnes Road.
Thomas S. Sitton, 67, of 814 Barnes Road, Monroe, told deputies that another unidentified man pulled into his driveway and the pair began to argue.
When the man tried to leave the driveway and leave the area, Sitton drove his pickup truck into Barnes Road, blocking the roadway and preventing the man from leaving, according to the June 30 arrest report.
Sitton exited his pickup truck, carrying a .357 Magnum revolver and directed the man to get out of his car.
The man tried to drive around Sitton’s truck. When the man finally escaped, Sitton fired three shots, blowing out the man’s two driver’s side tires.
Sitton followed the man to a mobile home park on Hwy 139 where deputies took the suspect into custody.
Sitton was booked at Ouachita Correctional Center.
