Leaders throughout Ouachita Parish are joining Ouachita Green to participate in the annual “Leaders Against Litter” event on Friday, April 12, 2019.
Ouachita Green, which consists of Keep Monroe, West Monroe and Ouachita Parish Beautiful, are Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB) affiliate communities.
Leaders Against Litter gives local leaders the opportunity to demonstrate their support for keeping Louisiana beautiful by leading the charge against litter in our community.
Local government officials, business and community leaders will join Ouachita Green on Friday, April 12 at 10 a.m. on the steps of West Monroe City Hall, located at 2305 N. 7th Street St. in West Monroe.
The event will include a brief press conference before leaders participate in a cleanup in West Monroe.
In the event of rain, the press conference will be held in Council Chambers located on the first floor of West Monroe City Hall.
Leaders will be asked to sign a Leaders Against Litter pledge to confirm their commitment to speak up and spread the word that litter is not acceptable, to pick up litter whenever they see it and to stand up and lead the way for a litter-free Louisiana.
Leaders Against Litter will also serve as the kick off of the Great American Cleanup. Ouachita Green will celebrate the Great American Cleanup with a parish-wide cleanup on Saturday, April 13 18 from 9 a.m. to noon.
