Ouachita Parish School Board member Scott Robinson, who represents District B on the board, asks voters in West Monroe and western Ouachita Parish to re-elect him to another term.
“We have a great school system with strong leadership and an experienced school board,” Robinson said. “I have been blessed to serve on the Ouachita Parish School Board as we upgraded facilities, improved our financial position and worked for the safety and security of our students and faculty.”
He said he has demonstrated a strong financial accountability to earn the trust of taxpayers. Taxpayers have been generous to the parish school system, and he plans for the administration and School Board to continue to be good stewards of the taxpayers’ money.
The school system faces some issues, including new laws on the state and federal level. During Robinson’s time on the School Board, the school system achieved unitary status, or completely desegregated the system, using long range planning to meet federal court guidelines.
Robinson has served on the School Board for 24 years. During that time, he has worked with school administrators, community leaders, business owners and school personnel as new schools were planned, and additions or renovations were made to all existing schools.
Robinson attended Highland Elementary, Claiborne Elementary and West Monroe Jr. High. He graduated from West Monroe High school in 1979 and from Northeast Louisiana University in 1983 with a degree in Criminal Justice. He is owner of Robinson Consulting, LLC and works as a building consultant. He and his wife, Janice are active members of Highland Baptist Church. The Robinsons have four children who all attended and graduated from District B schools. They also have two grandchildren who are the fourth generation to attend District B schools.
District B, covering part of West Ouachita’s attendance zone and part of West Monroe’s attendance zone, is described as the northwest part of Ouachita Parish. It extends from Norris Lane west to the Lincoln Parish line with a southern boundary of Hwy. 80 to exit 103 in Calhoun and then I-20 to the western parish line.
Please remember to vote November 6th for Scott Robinson, Ouachita Parish School Board District B.
