We will celebrate the Fourth of July or Independence Day soon. We will join our family in cook-outs and friendship. However, we must remember what the Fourth of July means to America. It is when America won it freedom from England.

On July 4, 1776, the 13 British colonies on the east coast declared their independence from England because of failed negotiations on oppression and religion freedom. The signers of the Declaration of Independence were mostly people of faith and when the 57-signers stepped up the table to sign the Declaration they knew that they may be signing their death warrant, and many did lose their lives.

After the colonies won their freedom after a bloody conflict, they compiled the Constitution that America would be governed by. The Constitution is a unique document based on biblical principles. The Constitution defines our freedoms.

For 243 years, America has been blessed as the longest on-going Constitutional Republic in the history of the world. These blessings are not accidental, they are blessings of God.

America has faced many challenges in it 243 years, but America has always worshiped God and ask for his Blessings. As we travel across America, we see many churches in every town and rural areas that worship God.

French Diplomat Alexis de Tocqueville came to America to see what made America great. He sought for the greatness and genius of America in her huge harbos and her ample rivers – and it was not there . . . in her fertile fields and boundless forests and it was not there . . . in her democratic Congress and her matchless Constitution – and it was not there. Not until he went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits aflame with righteousness did he understand the secret of America genius and power. America is great because of its faith in God and if America ever ceases to be godly, she will cease to be great.

The late Supreme Court Justice Anthony Scalia stated that God has been very good to America. One of the reasons God has been good to America is that we have honored him and obeyed him.

God has Blessed America because of our faith.

So, on the Fourth of July lets celebrate our freedoms, but give thanks to the Almighty for our great country.
