Ouachita Parish 4-H Hosts Awards Day

MORE THAN 200 local 4-Hers and 4-H Volunteers were recognized for their accomplishments during the 2018-19 school year at 4-H Awards Day in May at Kiroli Park. This annual celebration featured a series of hands-on educational demonstrations, activities, contests, and awards. The 2018-19 Ouachita 4-H Program focus was on SAFETY! Monthly 4-H Club Meetings across Ouachita Parish focused on different aspects of Safety, such as: water safety, internet safety, bicycle safety, bullying, etc. The Safety theme was incorporated into the 4-H Awards Day Program through educational demonstrations led by local volunteers: Black Bayou, the West Monroe Police Department, and Acadian Ambulance. We really appreciate their time and dedication! We also had a few fun activities presented by our Jr. Leaders and some cool snow cones from Kona Ice to extend the fun! The educational series was followed by an awards ceremony in which school clubs and individual 4-Hers were recognized for their accomplishments. Certificates, plaques, and medals were presented to show our appreciation for various 4-H contests, shooting sports, livestock, horse show, and art accomplishments. We are so proud of our 4-Hers!
