Neville senior back Kavonte Turpin (#4) looks for the open space against Warren Easton defense

Neville senior Kavontae Turpin has verbally committed to play football for the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs next season.

Turpin announced his decision via his Twitter page on around 11 a.m. on Sunday, January 25 following his visit to the Fort Worth campus.

Turpin will be the latest Ouachita Parish product to head to Fort Worth, Texas to play for TCU.  Other football players from Ouachita Parish to play for TCU includes James McFarland, Connor Osborne, Chucky Hunter and Terrell Lathan who are all from West Mornoe High School.

The Horned Frogs were one of the top teams in the country, but were denied a bid for the four team national championship playoff.  Instead, TCU would settle for a dominating Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl victory over the Ole Miss Rebels.

Please pick up the January 29 edition of The Ouachita Citizen for more on this developing story.
