The University of Louisiana at Monroe Warhawks (21-11) jumped out to a 10 point 36-26 lead by the half as the Warhawks cruised to a 77-59 victory over the Southern Alabama Jaguars (13-20) in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament at New Orleans' Lakefront Arena on Friday, March 13.
With the victory, ULM will move on to the semifinals of the Sun Belt Tournament and will play the Georgia Southern Eagles (21-8) at the New Orleans' Lakefront Arena on Saturday, March 14 at 3:30 p.m.
The Warhawks had four players hit double figures with Tylor Ongwae leading the way with 17 points while Majok Deng and Nick Coppola each added 12 points for ULM. The other Warhawk in double figures was DeMondre Harvey who contributed 11 points in the victory.
Closing out the scoring for ULM was Mack Foster with 9 points while Jamal Samuel and Justin Roberson each had 8 points for the Warhawks.
Leading the way for Southern Alabama was Dionte Ferguson with 16 points while Ken Williams contributed with 13 points.
