Two armed men accused of robbing a man in a wheelchair of $7 were booked within 15 minutes of committing the crime, according to the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO).

The robbery occurred Monday in Ridgecrest near town hall. The two suspects were stopped 15 minutes later in Vidalia and arrested by deputy Walter Mackel.

Booked were Dennis Floyd, 24, 715 Virginia, Ferriday, and Davelle Davis, 28, 206 Vidalia Drive, Ridgecrest. Each was charged with armed robbery, cruelty to the infirm and felon in possession of a firearm.

CPSO Deputy Walter Mackel said the robbery occurred on Apple Street. He said the victim went to the Ridgecrest Town Hall nearby where CPSO was quickly notified.

Hedrick said the complaint “of an armed robbery of a gentlemen in a wheelchair” was received at 11:43 a.m.

Mackel said the two suspects fled in a vehicle. In Vidalia, Mackel spotted both the vehicle and subjects and arrested both. The victim identified each as the men who robbed him.

Hedrick said “we greatly appreciate” the Vidalia Police Department and Narcotics Task Force for assisting in the arrest.
