Ferriday police are investigating the break-in of a home in Woodland Subdivision in Ferriday Sunday morning.

The owner of the home, who was in a Jonesville nursing home, died Sunday.

According to Sam King of the Ferriday Police Department, the alarm went off at the house early Sunday morning.

Ferriday police officers responded, but found nothing around the perimeter and nothing seemed out of context, said King.

King said the daughter of the owner of the house arrived and found the house ransacked.

"They got some loose change, but don't appear to have gotten anything of significant value," King said.

King said anyone with information should contact the Ferriday Police Department at 757-3606.

"We've had several break-ins in Woodland and are asking people to be very vigilant and contact us if they see something that needs reporting," King said.
