An investigation by the Children's Advocacy Center and Vidalia Police led to the arrest of a French Settlement man on three charges of child molestation involving three Vidalia children.
Chester David Sibley, 37, 16960 Mitchell Road, French Settlement, was arrested by the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office on Feb. 4.
Vidalia Police Chief Joey Merrill said Vidalia police investigators responded to a complaint of child molestation. During the course of the investigation, the Children’s Advocacy Center and police investigators interviewed children, leading investigators to believe Sibley had molested three juveniles.
"At this time no other information can be released, due to the ages of the victims and the nature of the offense," Merrill said. "More charges are pending as the investigation is still ongoing.”
Sibley is being held in Concordia Parish jail on charges of three counts of molestation of a juvenile and three counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and is awaiting a magistrate hearing.
