The Town of Ferriday and the Ferriday Garden Club are sponsoring a clean-up day on October 16.

Those wishing to assist can meet at Rockabilly Plaza on First Street across the street from Haney's at 10 a.m.

Volunteers are asked to bring lawn mowers and weed-eaters, if possible.

Garbage bags and gloves will be available. A dumpster will be located behind Rockabilly Plaza.

“I’m excited about getting out and helping clean up our town,” said Ferriday Mayor Rydell Turner. “I’m encouraging the citizens and businesses join us to make our town even better than it is. That has always been one of my top priorities.”

Ferriday Garden Club member Lena Bateman said the club will be visiting Ferriday schools to spread the word.

“This is a great chance for students to acquire community hours in a very positive way,” Bateman said.
