Ferriday Garden Club held their first 2023 meeting on January 12 and welcomed guest speaker Tevah Saxon Cardneaux. Tevah is the president of the Natchez Master Gardeners and active gardener and beekeeper. She shared an informative PowerPoint program on bees of our region and plantings for pollinators. Members planned Arbor Day planting and it was decided to add another Louisiana Official Tree, the Bald Cypress at the Bayou Memorial Park on Friday, January 20th, weather permitting.
Hostesses Susanne Routon and Anne Swilley treated members to Mardi Gras treats including a delicious king cake. The next FGC meeting is scheduled for February 9th, members and guests are urged to attend.
