Garden clubs plan show

Ferriday Garden Club and the Tensas Garden Club will present “Lake Living” a small standard flower show at Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church in Ferriday on April 13, 2017 announced Ferriday Garden Club president, Sherrill Sasser in conjunction with Tensas president, Valerie Sloan.

The show will be open to the public from 1:30-3 pm. The exhibition affords our communities the opportunity to see unique floral designs with the theme of “Lake Living” as well as horticulture displays of many unique living plants.

According to Show Chairman, Lena Bateman, “Lake Living was a natural choice as a many people from both our clubs enjoy the lakes of Concordia & Tensas parishes, either living on their banks or choosing them for recreation. Our categories for the designs reflect the affinity of lake lifestyle, “Picnic on the pier”, Lazy, hazy days of Summer” and even a unique underwater design class aptly titled “Swimming”, will reflect the theme. We are excited to be joining with the Tensas club in this show. It is their first time hosting a Flower Show and we hope that the enthusiasm of Ferriday, our members and guests will inspire them to many more.
