Concordia Parish Library and Delta Bank presents, “The History of Christmas Carols,” a virtual book review which will be available during the month of December. Scholar Georgiann Potts will review several books that cover the origins and history of Christmas carols. Ms. Potts’ extensive research brings great insight and engaging content to our book reviews.
Caroling is an oral tradition that has been passed down through the generations. This tradition of caroling goes back centuries, when carolers traveled door-to-door, as they were not allowed to sing carols inside of churches. Beginning with the oldest carols sung at Christmas right up to modern favorites, Scholar Potts will trace these origins and Christmas stories. This program will be sure to spark that inner Christmas spirit!
This book review will be made available at the library’s webpage: www.concordialibrary.org by clicking the poster, or visiting the library’s Facebook page @concordialibrary and clicking “Join Event.” Concordia Parish Library and Delta Bank invite you to dive into this delectable program and learn about some of Louisiana’s most important culture.
