A RAINBOW appeared over rain-soaked ground late Monday. This photo was taken at Lee Bayou in Catahoula Parish looking south toward Clayton along U.S. 425. Rainfall was heavy at times throughout the region as tropical storm Cristobal passed through. The National Weather Service at Jackson, Miss., reported 4.5 inches of rain in Ferriday for Sunday and Monday but about 2.5 inches in general throughout Concordia Parish and area. The Mississippi River at Natchez showed a slight rise, standing at 52.3 feet on Tuesday, four-plus feet above flood stage. (Concordia Sentinel photo)
