Four Vidalia men were arrested following a shooting Monday night in Vidalia.
According to Vidalia Police Chief Joey Merrill, Vidalia police officers responded to a call of shots fired at 1634 Azalea Street Monday at 9 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found bullet holes in a vehicle and spent shell casings in the roadway, indicating more than one gun was involved in the shooting, the chief said.
“The occupants of the house told officers that two people in a vehicle drove by and shot at them,” Merrill said. “They described the vehicle as a blue four-door Nissan pickup truck and told officers who the shooters were.”
Merrill said officers learned the shootings were the result of an unsatisfactory drug deal.
He said officers found various pieces of drug paraphernalia and .5 grams of marijuana.
Those arrested were Skylar Morace, 18, North Grove, Vidalia; Porter Goodwin, 24, 809 Gregory, Vidalia; Hunter Johnson, 21, Vidalia; and Nicholas Seanwise, 18, 614 Belle Grove, Vidalia. Each faces charges of aggravated assault with a firearm.
Also arrested was Kimberly Cowart, 19, of Vidalia, on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
“I want to thank the Concordia Parish deputies,” Merrill said, “who assisted by going to the residence, which is out in the parish, where they found the vehicle as described but with bullet holes in it also.”
