A Natchez woman was charged with introduction of contraband into the River Correctional Facility Thursday.
Mariah Taylor, 27, 11C Roosevelt Drive, Natchez, was charged with introduction of contraband into a penal institution, illegal possession of Schedule I DCS and felony fugitive attachment.
According to Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office reports, CPSO Narcotics Detectives received information from River Correctional Facility, regarding an individual working for a private transport company, who had arrived at the location numerous times apparently under the influence of narcotics.
On Thursday, Taylor arrived at the facility once again, in a company van, to transport five individuals who had been released. Upon entering the facility, it was discovered that she in fact had suspected narcotics concealed on her person. She was immediately taken into custody, at which time a name check revealed her to be wanted by the New Orleans Police Department on active attachments.
