Judges, DA

THE TWO judges and district attorney for the Seventh Judicial District comprising Concordia and Catahoula parishes began new six-year terms on Monday. Concordia Parish Clerk of Court Andy Anders administered the oaths of office. Judge John Reeves (left) is beginning his second term while Judge Kathy Johnson (right) is starting her fifth term. This will be the final terms for both judges. State judges are allowed to serve their terms past age 70, but are not allowed to seek re-election for another term. DA Brad Burget (center) is beginning his third term. Due to COVID-19 concerns, there will be no civil or criminal juries in Louisiana until March based on an order by the state Supreme Court.
