Road work

ROAD WORK has begun on U.S. 425 from Arkansas Avenue in Ferriday to the US 65 intersection in Clayton. According to Ken Free with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, the project consists of “patching existing pavement failures, milling the existing asphalt pavement and replacing with a new lift of asphalt.” He said the project was awarded to D & J Construction Co. of West Monroe at a cost of $2.8 million. The work includes all five lanes in Ferriday and four lanes to Clayton excepting the concrete section in the north lanes immediately north of Ferriday. (Concordia Sentinel photo)
