Three people were sent to Trinity Medical Center Tuesday morning after an accident involving an 18-wheeler and minivan in Clayton.
According to Clayton Police Chief Bobby Madison, an 18-wheeler driven by Rogers Rondell of Baton Rouge was traveling north on La. Hwy 425. A minivan traveling south on La. Hwy 65 turned left into the one-way highway and was hit by Rondell’s 18-wheeler.
The minivan was driven by Deidre Paul of Alabama while the minivan’s passenger was Sabrina Sanderson of Pensacola, Fla.
According to Madison, Paul said her GPS instructed her to turn left on La. Hwy 425 northbound instead of crossing over to the southbound lane.
The 18-wheeler belongs to Stevens Pipe & Steel of Kentucky.
Madison said there were no life-threatening injuries, and Paul was charged with careless operation.
