Tornado or shelf cloud?

THIS OMINOUS cloud near Clayton photographed last week looks like a tornado, but according to David Cox with National Weather Service in Jackson, Miss., it was likely “a shelf cloud” with straight line winds located “near three miles northeast of Clayton when the resident saw it from Lee Bayou. We had no damage reports in that area near that time.” At 8:30 a.m. Friday, Jan Stutson shot this scene looking east toward Waterproof along U.S. 425 south of Clayton.
