Jo Ann Guilliot Harper

Memorial services for Jo Ann Guilliot Harper, 65, of Vidalia, were held Monday January 28, 2019, at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday, with Chaplain M.L. Miller officiating.

She was born Monday, December 21, 1953 and passed away January 24, 2019 in Alexandria. 

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Georgia Lee Arthur and Lionel Guilliot; three brothers, Billy Guilliot, Marion Arthur, Harry Arthur; sister, Sarah Cupit and nephew, Michael Cupit.

Jo Ann is survived by one daughter, Jana Geoghegan and husband Martin of Vidalia; grandchildren, Nicholas Scirocco, Abbey Geoghegan, and Brooklynn Geoghegan all of Vidalia and one brother Tommy Arthur. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Melissa Lynn Brown Holder

Memorial services for Melissa Lynn Brown Holder, 49, of Madison, MS, who died Thursday January 24, 2019 in Ferriday, were held Sunday January 27, 2019 at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Father David O’Connor officiating. Burial followed at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Holder was born May 2, 1969 in New Orleans.


Jo Ann Pecanty Lancaster

Funeral services for Mrs. Jo Ann Pecanty Lancaster, 77 of Monterey, were held Monday, January 28, 2019 at Eva Church of God with Rev. Joey Pepmiller and Bro. Jack Knapp officiating. Interment followed in Tiffee Cemetery, Monterey under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home, Ferriday.


Elmer Leon Johnson

Services for Elmer Leon Johnson, Sr. 77, of Vidalia, who died on Friday January 25, 2019 at his residence, were held Monday January 27, 2019 at Laird Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Johnson was born on July 25, 1941 in Natchez, MS.


Brenda Jean Moore

Funeral services for Mrs. Brenda Jean Moore, 51, of Ferriday, were held Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 2 p.m. from the Natchez First Church, Natchez, MS with Pastor James Johnson officiating. Burial followed at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Natchez.  

Mrs. Moore, daughter of Nancy Johnese Johnson and the late George Leroy Moore was born June 5, 1967 in Natchez and died January 28, 2019, at her residence. She was employed as a sitter for a home health service and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors occlude her mother; two sons, Ricky Bass and his wife, Jackie and Harley Bass, Sr. and his wife, Tiffani; three sisters, Teresa Lucas, Myrtle Kelly and her husband Steven all of Ferriday and Patricia Williams of Lower Lake, CA; She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kimberly, Lelan, Landan, Layton, Harley, Jr., Havana, Hudson, Henley Bass, Elijah Hardy; one great-grandbaby, Skyler Bass all of Ferriday. And a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father.

 Pallbearers were Raymond Kelly, Jamie Campbell, Jessie Bolyer, Johnny Hebron, J. D. Denny and Steven Kelly. Honorary pallbearers were Randy Garrison, James McManus, Freddie Hill and Richard Bass, Sr.


James "Jimmy" Lawrence Reed

Funeral service for James "Jimmy" Lawrence Reed, 62, of Jonesville, were held Monday, January 28, 2019, at Utility Baptist Church with Bro. White and Bro. Dusty Robinson officiating. Interment followed at Palo Alto Cemetery, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home, Jonesville.

Jimmy Reed was born on Tuesday, June 12, 1956 in Hayti, MO and passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 in Jonesville. He was kind and loved everyone he ever met.

He was preceded in death by his brother Kevin Reed.

Jimmy is survived by his son Derrick Barr; parents, Buster and Dorothy Reed; three grandchildren, Melody Barr, Malachi Barr and Isabella Barr; brother Ricky Reed; nephew Kendall Reed and his wife Christina; great-nephew Chanler Reed.

Pallbearers were Kendall Reed, Terry Lynn Wiley, Robert West, Justin Holloway, Troy Davis, and Odell Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers were Chanler Reed, Ricky Reed, Larry Woods and Margie Curtis family.
