October Golden Broom

The Ferriday Garden Club Golden Broom Judges toured the city limits of Ferriday in search of the businesses that were litter free, neat and clean. It was unanimous that the Ferriday Lower Elementary School was the winner for the month. The school faculty and, of course, the students are to be congratulated for their litter free, clean campus that shows their pride in their school. Representing the school are Sandra Burton, Principal, Brandon Carter, left and Al Watson, both FLE custodians. It was a close tie between the Rufus Baptist Church and the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, both on Mickey Gilley Street for runner-up positions. The Rufus Baptist Church received the Honorable Mention and the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church was Most Improved. Both churches are to be commended for their well kept grounds.
