Bolton High picked up its first win of the season, while Block remaining winless in the battle of the Bears as Bolton defeated the Jonesville team 20-6 Saturday for Block’s Homecoming.

“We got into the red zone four or five times, but couldn’t push it in,” said Block coach Benny Vault. But the kids are playing hard. I told them to continue playing hard and eventually get that win. They know what it takes to get to the next level.”

Block visits Logansport Thursday.

That game was originally scheduled for Jonesville on Friday, but Vault said Block’s home football field is not playable after Saturday’s contest.

Logansport is 1-4, but has lost to the likes of Calvary, Loyola College Prep, Bossier and Jonesboro-Hodge.

“They are extremely talented,” Vault said. “We’ve been playing good defense, and it’s going to take an outstanding effort on both sides of the ball.”
