Delta Charter hits the road Friday as the Storm face Tensas High in St. Joseph in a District 2-1A contest.

Delta Charter is off to its best start ever at 4-1.

Tensas won its opening game against Lakeview, but has dropped its last four games, including a 42-0 loss to two-time defending state champ Oak Grove on Friday.

“I thought we played pretty well considering the number of players we have,” said Tensas head coach Quinton Powell.

The Storm defeated Sicily Island 30-16 Friday.

“I have always preached at the next game is the most important,” Wheeler said. “It doesn’t matter who we are playing. I saw Tensas against Sicily Island, and they’ve got some good athletes. If you miss a tackle, they’ve got game-breakers. And they are going through a rough patch, so they aare hungry for a win. But I know our kids will come in focused because they are wanting to continue to win.”

Powell said he is getting a few players back from injuries.

“I’m expecting Friday to be a good game,” Powell said. “We have to be able to run the ball and stop the run on defense.”
