Monterey High’s boys basketball team fell to Alexandria Country Day School 49-43 Friday in Alexandria.
Country Day does not have a girls basketball team.
“We played terrible,” said Monterey head coach Eric Richard. “We were just flat. There was no energy in that gy, and none from us. They have five good athletes, but we just didn’t play well.”
Jack Magoun led Monterey with 12 points.
The Wolves were ranked No. 27 in Division IV non-select with a 9-7 record before Tuesday’s first game in the new gym in Monterey against Grace Christian.
The results of that game are in the A section.
Monterey will host Country Day on January 21.
“That game put us a bit behind the 8-ball,” Richard said. “But if we can win at least four games the rest of the way we should be in good shape.”
The Lady Wolves are sitting at No. 37 in Divison IV non-select with a 9-6 record.
