A suspect is in custody following a rash of break-ins in Ferriday over the past week.

Ferriday Police Investigator Richard Madison said the break-ins took place on Perkins, Lancaster and Lake Drive.

Madison said information is still being gathered before the suspect’s name could be released.

Ferriday Police Officer Sam King said a resident was in one of the houses asleep while it was being robbed Sunday night.

"There was jewelry, some money and valuables taken," King said. "And a gun was taken from one home."
