Vidalia man charged
after holding hostages
A Vidalia man is being held at the Concordia Parish jail after allegedly holding his girlfriend and her 8-year-old son hostage, according to the Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office (CPSO).
According to the report on the matter, CPSO deputies responded to a call on Jan. 30 at 392 Green Acres Road where they learned that William R. McCurdy III, 38, had held his girlfriend and her 8-year-old son at knifepoint for approximately two hours.
According to report, the girlfriend stated that McCurdy threatened to kill both she and her son. She also said that McCurdy said he was going to cut her son’s face off and peel it back with a pair of pliers.
McCurdy was arrested at approximately 3 p.m. on Jan. 30 on warrants for two counts resisting an officer, simple criminal damage to property, false imprisonment with a weapon, aggravated assault and domestic violence.
