A memorial remembering the many accomplishments of late Baskin Mayor Geraldine Harrison Fife has been placed at the Town Hall.

Fife was instrumental finding grant funds for the construction of Baskin’s Town Hall along with the park located beside it. 

In her years as mayor, she also established the Baskin Community Center, fire station, Veteran’s Memorial, police cars, fire trucks along with many other achievements. She served as mayor for the village from 1990 to 2002. 

Organizers for creating the monument was Trudie Boudreaux and Glenda Lebaux, former clerks.

Fife passed away Sept. 8, 2021.
