The Shelter InsuranceFoundation awarded $2,000 scholarship to Jaidyn Elizabeth Oliver, Taylor Patrick Roberts and Joseph Bruce Cordill.
Shelter Agent Dan Warner sponsors and partially funds this scholarship.
Oliver is the daughter of Jeff and Sandy Oliver. She is a graduate of Family Community Christian School and will attend the University of Louisiana at Monroe in the fall to study criminal justice and plans to attend law school after.
Roberts is the son of Desha and Tori Roberts. He is a graduate of Franklin Parish High School and will attend Louisiana Tech in the fall to major in Education.
Cordill is the son of Joey and Brandi Cordill. He is a graduate of Franklin Parish High School. He will also attend Louisiana Tech in the fall and plans to major in business/economics. He also plans to receive his masters at LA Tech and then attend Law school.
Beginning the fall after high school graduation Shelter will direct the scholarship funds toward tuition, fees, or campus housing for any course of study leading to an academic degree at any accredited college or university.
A committee of local high school officials and community leaders selected the local recipients. The committee considered each applicant’s scholastic achievements, educational goals, citizenship, moral character, and participation and leadership in school and community activities. The scholarship is given without regard to race, disability, religion, national origin or gender of applicants.
The Shelter InsuranceFoundation is a not-for-profit corporation for charitable and educational purposes. It is sponsored by the Shelter Insurance Companies – offering auto, home, life, farm and business insurance services to customers in 14 states via a network of local insurance agents and headquartered in Columbia, Missouri.
