The Franklin Parish High School band will present an evening of special music at Princess Theatre as their contribution to holiday celebrations. The concert is set to take place on Dec. 18 at 6:30 p.m. according to band director Caleb McDaniel.

The event is offered free to the public.

“We’re really looking forward to it,” McDaniel said.

The band will be joined again this year by students enrolled in performing arts throughout he Franklin Parish School System Talented Arts Program, under the direction of Gene Thompson.

“We’re excited to have them with us again. They did a fantastic job last year,” McDaniel said.

McDaniel said this year’s concert will also feature performances by the Franklin Parish High School Choir.

While the concert will feature traditional holiday songs, it will also include a variety of different selections.

The choir is set to perform “The African Noel,” and “Once Upon A December.”

The band’s percussion section will add the sound of congas to the choir’s performance.

Featured music for the band will include music from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Polar Express.”

McDaniel invites everyone to join the FPHS Band for the upcoming holiday event.
