Franklin Parish ended its season Friday at home against Bastrop with two district losses to the Rams.

Franklin Parish’s games with Union, Ouachita and Ouachita Christian were cancelled.

The Patriots end their season at 9-19.

“We had a couple of schools cancel for whatever reasons,” said Franklin Parish coach Terry Martin. “It would have given us a chance to finish on a positive note. Ouachita Christian was willing to play us, but when the other teams cancelled I told them our game would not do us a lot of good, so we decided not to play it. I will make sure and have everyone on our schedule sign contracts next year.”

Jalen Martin led Franklin Parish with six points against Bastrop.

“The best thing about this season was learning from it,” said Martin, who came to Franklin Parish from Family Community Christian School this season. “We’re going to come back and put everything out there and bounce back.”

The Lady Patriots fell to Bastrop 57-39.

Ka’Daja Hanks led Franklin Parish with 15 points.

Franklin Parish ends its regular season at 15-11.

The Lady Patriots are sitting at No. 15.

“It’s going to hurt us losing games,” said Lady Patriot coach Cassandra Wiley. “But right now we’re focusing on the playoffs and hoping to stay above 16 to get a first-round playoff game. We’re just going to work on correcting our mistakes and learn from them.”
